Job summary

United Hospital Center is seeking a Trauma Nurse Coordinator to oversee trauma care across the continuum, develop and implement clinical protocols, and serve as a key resource for multidisciplinary teams at UHC.

The role requires three years of trauma experience, RN licensure, and certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC). Preference given to BSN holders with CEN/CCRN. Strong leadership and education skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Current RN license valid in the state of service or eNLC.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire date.
• ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire date.
• PALS certification required within 30 days of hire date.
• TNCC certification through ENA within 30 days of hire date.
• Three years trauma clinical experience (Emergency Department or Critical Care).
• BSN and/or CEN/CCRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate trauma care management across the continuum of trauma care.
• Review cases to ensure compliance with Trauma Center designation criteria.
• Provide inter-facility staff development and case review; standardize practice guidelines.
• Develop and disseminate education for emergency healthcare professionals; educate public on injury prevention.
• Monitor clinical outcomes and Performance Improvement issues.
• Manage operational aspects of Trauma Services as appropriate.
• Assist Trauma Registry with PI activities: data collection, coding, scoring, processes.
• Serve as consultant/liaison with departments for trauma patient care.
• Participate in research selection and distribution of findings.
• Contribute to development of trauma care systems at community, state, or national levels.
• Communicate with patients, families, staff and the public professionally.
• Participate in Quality initiatives to improve services and regulatory compliance.
