Job summary

WVU Medicine Berkeley and Jefferson Medical Centers in West Virginia are seeking a Trauma Care Coordinator to oversee trauma care management across the continuum, develop and implement clinical protocols, and serve as a resource for best-practice nursing. This role requires a current RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC, and 3 years of trauma experience.

Preferred BSN with CEN or CCRN. You will collaborate with ED, ICU and registry teams, lead education programs, monitor outcomes, and support quality

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state where services are provided.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• Three years of trauma clinical experience (ED or ICU).
• BSN preferred; CEN or CCRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates trauma care management across the continuum of trauma care.
• Reviews cases to ensure compliance with Trauma Center Criteria.
• Provides for inter-facility staff development and standardizes practice guidelines.
• Develops and disseminates educational programs for emergency healthcare professionals and the public.
• Monitors clinical outcomes and system issues for Performance Improvement.
• Manages the operational aspects of Trauma Services as appropriate.
• Assists Trauma Registry to facilitate PI activities and data processes.
• Acts as a consultant/liaison across departments to aid trauma care.
• Participates in research, analysis, and distribution of findings.
• Contributes to development of trauma care systems at local, state, or national levels.
• Communicates professionally with patients, families, staff, and the public to uphold patient-centered care.
• Participates in Quality initiatives and reports results to administration.
