Job summary

WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for Trauma Services in the Critical Care and Trauma Institute. The NP will coordinate care for trauma patients, perform procedures, and collaborate with surgical teams to develop comprehensive care plans.

Qualifications include a Master’s in Nursing, national APRN certification, WV licensure eligibility, and BLS/ACLS/ATLS. Experience in acute/critical care is preferred; new graduates may be considered.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as an APRN in West Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive care for trauma/critical care patients.
• Coordinate preoperative and perioperative workups with surgical services.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and communicate results.
• Discharge planning and transition to next level of care.
• Mentor nursing staff and participate in rounds and education.
