Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County seeks a Nurse Practitioner to join the Department of Surgery. You will manage inpatient care for general surgery and ICU patients, participate in shift handoffs, and support trauma resuscitations and surgical consultations.

The role requires an accredited NP program, CA NP license, furnishing license, DEA, and NPI, with 2+ years of NP experience and current BLS/ACLS. Strong communication and PHI privacy skills are essential.

• NP AGACNP-BC/ACNP-AG certification.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• ATLS within six months of hire.
• 2 years NP experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage inpatient care for general surgery and surgical ICU patients.
• Participate in inpatient sign-out at shift start and end.
• Coordinate trauma resuscitations and surgical consultations.
• Schedule operations and procedures, obtain consults, and discharge patients.
• Review critical labs and follow up with patients and staff.
• Obtain medical histories and perform exams.
• Provide multi-disciplinary care coordination and patient education.
