Job summary

DMC Harper University Hospital in Detroit is seeking a Transporter to support patient flow and care coordination on the Day shift.

Under general supervision, you will escort patients by stretcher or wheelchair, transport specimens and charts, and complete intra-hospital transfers to ensure timely treatments and admissions. This role is located at DMC Harper University/Hutzel Women’s Hospital with a 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM schedule. Tenet Healthcare is committed to a respectful, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write follow written and oral instructions and perform general clerical functions related to the job.
• No previous related experience required; one to four weeks on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients within the hospital by stretcher, wheelchair or bed for treatment, testing, admitting, discharge and intra-hospital transfers.
• Deliver specimens, patient charts and various other patient related materials to specified department or other hospital area.
• Follow established policies and procedures under general supervision.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, performs transporter duties which may include, but are not limited to escorting and/or transporting patients within the hospital. Escorts patients by stretcher, wheelchair or bed for treatment, testing, admitting, discharge and intra-hospital transfers. Delivers on request specimens, patient charts and various other patient related materials to specified department or other hospital area.
