Job summary

Inspire Development Centers in Washington state seeks a Transportation Specialist to plan and coordinate training for CDL compliant school bus drivers and staff. You will ensure compliance with DOT, Head Start, and state regulations while coordinating with the Transportation & Facilities Coordinator and center teams.

The role requires knowledge of transportation safety, fleet maintenance coordination, and ability to train diverse staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 1–3 years experience in automotive shop, fleet manager, or dispatcher.
• Strong proficiency with PC software including Windows, Office, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Knowledge of Washington State Patrol bus inspection protocol is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to train others.
• Ability to travel and manage multiple tasks with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all transportation trainings, including classroom and behind-the-wheel sessions for bus drivers and monitors.
• Develops training curricula for DOT bus driver and monitor trainings and maintains tracking systems.
• Maintains fleet and vehicle maintenance records, inspections, and driver records.
• Coordinates safety, maintenance, and equipment needs for program vehicles; conducts inspections and winterizing.
• Performs route checks for hazards and ensures accessibility for children with special needs.
• Delivers training and supports staff development; maintains confidentiality of program data.
