US3090 Sygma Illinois (The Sygma Network, Inc) seeks a transportation supervisor to support the manager in overseeing delivery and backhaul activities. You will train staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote safety within the department.

You will supervise daily operations, manage scheduling and budgets, and collaborate with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve issues. A CDL is preferred and experience in freight transport is desired.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• 2-4 years of transportation experience expected.
• Commercial Driver's License (Class A) preferred but not required.
• DOT regulations training preferred.

Responsabilités

• Supervises daily work and safety of transportation associates and enforces SOPs and safety standards.
• Ensures compliance with DOT, OSHA and other regulations; maintains accurate electronic logs.
• Manages labor hours and consumables within budget.
• Prepares work schedules including extra shifts as needed.
• Assists with training and cross-training of associates.
• Directs use of company assets to support delivery operations.
• Coordinates repairs with appropriate departments as necessary.
• Reviews delivery performance and suggests efficiency and cost reductions.
• Interprets and enforces company policies and procedures including food safety and record keeping.
• Communicates with warehouse and customer service to resolve delivery issues.
• Visits customer locations to address issues and assess delivery difficulty.
• Maintains positive associate relations and conducts pre-shift meetings.
• Keeps open communication channels and solicits ideas to improve engagement.
• Works with safety manager on training and safety investigations.
• Performs staff selection, development, discipline and performance reviews.
