Job summary

UNFI in Stockton, CA is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to assist management in supervising drivers and staff of the Transportation Department, implementing schedules, departure times, and daily operations.

Join our team to ensure efficient, compliant deliveries and effective coordination with customers and internal departments. CDL is preferred; strong leadership and communication skills are required to drive safe and reliable transportation performance.

Qualifications

• Experience or formal training in transportation, preferably in grocery distribution.
• Strong leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of government transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

• Schedule routes and loads for distribution.
• Ensure merchandise is delivered in good condition.
• Coordinate with Warehouse for delivery timing.
• Assign drivers to loads per DOT guidelines.
• Maintain relationships with store management via calls and visits.
• Support special requests from stores.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Prepare weekly/monthly DOT mileage reports.
• Conduct driver road tests and training.
