Job summary

National DCP, LLC seeks a Transportation Supervisor for our Lockport, IL distribution center. You will coach drivers, ensure safe, legal, and on-time freight delivery, and coordinate with operations to optimize route performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years in managing high-volume delivery routes.
• 2+ years supervisory experience in a transportation-related role.
• Strong knowledge of FMCSA rules and OSHA standards.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• SAP experience preferred; routing software familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate route drivers for performance, safety, and service.
• Coach drivers on safety, driving, and customer service.
• Monitor driver performance weekly using PeopleNet and counsel on improvements.
• Supervise Lead Drivers and liaise with stores/distribution center to resolve delivery issues.
• Ensure DOT hours of service compliance and manage breakdowns/accidents.
• Assist with driver schedules, vacations, and time off requests.
• Oversee hub locations and occasional overnight travel.
• Plan daily routes with Router as needed and support safety training.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

• Responsible for the direction and coordination of assigned team of route drivers to ensure maximum performance relative to product delivery, cost efficient equipment utilization, service, safety and good customer relations.

• Creates a team-oriented environment by developing and coaching Drivers on safety, driving, and customer service skills.

• Monitors Driver performance weekly through PeopleNet. Counsels Drivers on performance issues and areas for improvement.

• Supervises assigned Lead Drivers.

• Works with Dunkin' Stores and Distribution Center (as a liaison) in problem-solving delivery issues.

• Administers progressive discipline when required.

• Enforces all company policies, DOT and FMCSA regulations.

• Assists Operations Scheduler with driver’s weekly schedules, vacations, and time off requests.

• Orientate and develops new drivers.

• Assists in compiling, monitoring, managing, and implementing the driver performance metrics and incentive program if applicable.

• Manage fleet utilization, tracking status of vehicle/equipment, monitoring equipment on Out of Service report and working with Penske/Ryder as needed.

• Ensures compliance with DOT hours of service.

• Reacts timely and effectively to breakdowns and accidents.

• Oversees Hub Locations (as assigned) with possible overnight travel to hub locations, assessing routes and Drivers.

• Assists Router in daily route planning as needed.

• Works with the Safety Manager on proper safe driving techniques, proper lifting, and training in all required DOT regulations.

• Accepts and assists with special projects as required.

Qualifications

What you bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• 3 to 5 years' experience managing a high-volume delivery route; preferably food delivery experience.

• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a transportation-related role within the quick service restaurant industry.

• Strong understanding of the Federal Motor Carrier Rules and Regulations.

• Knowledge of related OSHA standards and regulations.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• SAP experience preferred.

• On Board Computer System Experience required.

• Prior experience with routing software. Appian preferred.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities required.

• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills required.

• Willing and able to work flexible/extended work schedules as needed.

• CDL license and current DOT medical card a plus
