Job summary

National DCP, LLC is seeking a Transportation Supervisor in Lockport, IL to manage a team of route drivers, coach safety and service, and ensure cost-efficient, on-time deliveries to Dunkin’ stores. You’ll monitor performance, enforce policies, and coordinate with hubs and carriers.

A CDL and DOT familiarity are a plus. The role offers competitive salary with bonus potential and comprehensive benefits, and requires flexibility to cover two shifts and possible overnight travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 to 5 years' experience managing a high-volume delivery route; preferably food delivery.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in transportation within quick service restaurants.
• Strong understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Rules and Regulations.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• CDL license and current DOT medical card a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the assigned team of route drivers for peak performance, cost-efficient routing, service, safety, and customer relations.
• Develop and coach drivers on safety, driving, and customer service skills.
• Monitor driver performance weekly and counsel on improvements.
• Supervise lead drivers and liaise with stores and distribution centers on delivery issues.
• Administer progressive discipline when required and enforce DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Assist with driver schedules, vacations, and time-off requests.
• Orientate and develop new drivers; contribute to driver performance metrics.
• Manage fleet utilization and coordinate with Penske/Ryder as needed.
• Ensure compliance with DOT hours of service; respond to breakdowns and incidents.
• Oversee hub locations with possible overnight travel; assist with daily route planning.
• Support Safety Manager with safe driving techniques and required regulations.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

• Responsible for the direction and coordination of assigned team of route drivers to ensure maximum performance relative to product delivery, cost efficient equipment utilization, service, safety and good customer relations.
• Creates a team-oriented environment by developing and coaching Drivers on safety, driving, and customer service skills.
• Monitors Driver performance weekly through PeopleNet. Counsels Drivers on performance issues and areas for improvement.
• Supervises assigned Lead Drivers.
• Works with Dunkin’ Stores and Distribution Center (as a liaison) in problem-solving delivery issues.
• Administers progressive discipline when required.
• Enforces all company policies, DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Assists Operations Scheduler with driver’s weekly schedules, vacations, and time off requests.
• Orientate and develops new drivers.
• Assists in compiling, monitoring, managing, and implementing the driver performance metrics and incentive program if applicable.
• Manage fleet utilization, tracking status of vehicle/equipment, monitoring equipment on Out of Service report and working with Penske/Ryder as needed.
• Ensures compliance with DOT hours of service.
• Reacts timely and effectively to breakdowns and accidents.
• Oversees Hub Locations (as assigned) with possible overnight travel to hub locations, assessing routes and Drivers.
• Assists Router in daily route planning as needed.
• Works with the Safety Manager on proper safe driving techniques, proper lifting, and training in all required DOT regulations.
• Accepts and assists with special projects as required.
