Job summary

HMB Professional Engineers, LLC is seeking a Structural Engineer in Lexington, KY to join the Transportation team. You will design transportation-related structures, including bridges and walls, and support senior staff in design, drafting and review.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, PE licensure, and 5+ years of structural design experience. The position offers hybrid work arrangements plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering
• Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer
• 5+ years of experience in structural design
• Experience designing transportation structures including bridges, culverts, and walls
• Project and/or client management experience preferred
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Proficiency with CAD software (MicroStation or AutoCAD)
• Proficiency with structural design software (Bentley LEAP Bridge, OpenBridge, MDX, MIDAS)
• DOT project experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Design transportation-related structures including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls with reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, and timber elements
• Assist senior design staff in structural design, drafting & review
• Collaborate with structures group, other disciplines, and clients to complete projects
• Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal guidelines and codes
• Develop engineers cost estimates
• Guide junior staff by providing direction and feedback
