The role offers a path toward Project Management as you collaborate with design staff on signature projects and maintain a local feel within a national footprint.

The position emphasizes mentorship, strong design standards, and cross-functional coordination with PMs, clients, and regulators to deliver quality construction

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in roadway design and related tasks.
• OpenRoads Designer experience preferred.
• PE Certification preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong technical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing and standard software.
• Works well in multidisciplinary teams and meets deadlines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with initiative and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Support roadway design tasks via collaboration with project teams and mentorship from senior engineers.
• Work with Project Managers to meet schedules and budgets.
• Grow into a Project Manager role through increasing responsibility and mentorship.
• Prepare design drawings, details, presentations, and construction documents per standards.
• Assist in permit applications and submittal packages for regulatory review.
• Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, right-of-way staff, and contractors under senior staff guidance.
• Support development and tracking of project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
