Job summary

Maricopa County Transportation is seeking a Transportation Standards Engineer to support the MCDOT TIP and MIP, assisting the Senior Standards and Review Engineer with maintaining engineering standards and specifications. This journey-level Civil Engineer role requires initiative and independent judgment within defined limits.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional engineering experience with transportation projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, or by the technical board of another state, with the ability to obtain Arizona registration within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with updates to MAG Standard Specifications and Details, Roadway Design Manual and Guideline Special Provisions.
• Assist with developing and updating MCDOT's design guidelines and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with Designers on QA/QC tools and worksheets for use in design.
• Collaborate with the MCDOT CADD Group on updating CADD Standards and sample plan sheets.
• Maintain and update MCDOT's Master Bid Item list and Cost Estimation database.
