Job summary

The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) is seeking a qualified transportation engineer to support the Safety Policy Program. The role centers on managing safety analyses, evaluating crash data, and coordinating with internal and external partners to implement safety initiatives.

You will lead planning-level analysis, oversee consultants, and present findings at meetings. A PE license is required; a master’s in urban planning or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; PE license required.
• 3+ years of related work experience in engineering, urban traffic safety, and/or planning.
• Experience with transportation safety planning and data analysis.
• Strong writing and communication skills; ability to present to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage scopes, schedules and budgets for transportation planning studies.
• Analyze crash data, safety countermeasures, and design feasibility with risk assessment.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on project design and implementation.
• Oversee procurement, execution and oversight of consultant contracts.
• Facilitate MAG Transportation Safety Committee and present at public meetings.
• Respond to inquiries on safety initiatives from stakeholders.
