Job summary

Corporate Resources of Illinois, Ltd. is seeking a Transportation Specialist to support our logistics operations in Illinois. You’ll coordinate truckload and LTL shipments, work with carriers, and keep customers informed throughout the process.

The role requires 2+ years in transportation or logistics coordination, hands-on shipment coordination, and familiarity with a Transportation Management System (TMS). Strong communication and organization are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily TL and LTL shipments balancing delivery requirements and carrier availability.
• Schedule pickups and deliveries and update shipment info in the TMS.
• Collaborate with warehouse, customer service, and internal teams on routing and schedules.
• Monitor shipments, address delays, and coordinate solutions with carriers and customers.
• Serve as primary contact for shipment questions with timely updates.
• Build relationships with carriers and customers to ensure reliable service.

We’re looking for a Transportation Specialist who enjoys both the operational side of logistics and the customer-facing side of the business. What You’ll Do

• Coordinate daily truckload (TL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments, balancing delivery requirements, freight costs, and carrier availability.
• Schedule pickups and deliveries while maintaining accurate shipment information in the transportation management system (TMS).
• Work closely with warehouse personnel, customer service, and other internal teams to communicate routing instructions, delivery schedules, and special shipping requirements.
• Monitor shipments throughout transit, proactively address delays or service disruptions, and coordinate solutions with carriers and customers.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for shipment-related questions, providing timely updates and resolving delivery concerns.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with carriers and customers to support reliable service and smooth day-to-day operations.
