Job summary

Jobtailor in Dallas seeks an experienced Logistics Dispatcher to coordinate freight operations, ensure on-time pickups and deliveries, and maintain high dispatch accuracy.

You will manage carrier relationships, negotiate rates, monitor load tenders, and resolve driver/carrier issues while delivering exceptional customer service to internal and external partners. This role requires 3–6 years in transportation and strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Job description

• Oversee the coordination of Tricont Logistics freight, ensuring seamless operations.


• Provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers by exceeding their expectations.


• Dispatch Company controlled freight and support of sales and commodity group managers.


• Negotiating rates with Carriers/Broker for expedited loads, re-routes, and new lanes.


• Meet or exceed rate expectations as defined by corporate pricing.


• Maintain billing and dispatch accuracy of 98% or greater.


• Dispatch/coordinate between carriers/drivers/dispatch and sales.


• Post freight on various load boards and call carriers/broker to book loads.


• Confirm/verify rate via load tendering process.


• Follow company policy for processes and procedures.


• Managing demurrage, detention, layover, and other accessorial costs in accordance with company process and solve driver/carrier/broker issues.


• Update/track carrier/driver location information within company guidelines, report issues accordingly.


• Back up other dispatch positions.


• Assist Manager or Director, Logistics Services in leadership duties and reports when instructed.


• Problem solve driver/carrier issues.


• Maintain on time Pick-Up and Delivery performance of 98% or better.


• Supervise and coordinate all AfterHours transportation activities, to include assignments, dispatching, tracking, reporting issues, scheduling and recovery as needed.


• Lead, coach, and evaluate night shift.


• Communicate effectively with day shift supervisors/managers/directors to ensure smooth handover and continuity of operations.

Requirements

• Work hours – 50 + hours per week as needed (Monday- Friday)


• High School diploma or GED, but college degree preferred


• 3-6 years of transportation and 3rd party dispatch experience in sourcing and developing carriers and routing.


• Work independently, great communicator & customer service skills
