Job summary

Jobtailor in Tennessee is seeking a Transportation and Logistics Manager to lead daily operations of the transportation and logistics department. You will coordinate with sales and customer service to meet client needs and develop cost-efficient strategies to boost profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in transportation and logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation and logistics management.
• Experience in the freight forwarding industry preferred.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of transportation and logistics regulations and compliance.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with transportation management software (TMS) preferred.
• Fluent in English (oral and written).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the transportation and logistics department's daily operations to ensure all processes run smoothly and efficiently
• Coordinate with internal departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure customer needs are met
• Develop and implement transportation and logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability
• Collaborate with external partners, such as carriers and suppliers, to maintain strong relationships and ensure reliable transportation services
• Monitor transportation and logistics performance metrics and implement corrective actions where necessary
• Conduct regular audits of transportation and logistics processes to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
• Provide timely and accurate reports on transportation and logistics activities to management
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize transportation and logistics operations
