Job summary

Freese and Nichols, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to oversee projects in Greenville, Columbia, or Charleston, SC.

You will manage transportation projects from planning through delivery for state and local agency clients, lead project teams, and maintain client relationships. You will mentor junior engineers and support staff while ensuring designs meet regulatory requirements and firm quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 6+ years of transportation engineering experience.
• Preferred experience working on South Carolina DOT projects.
• Flexibility to work across multiple South Carolina offices.

Responsibilities

• Manage transportation projects for DOT and local agency clients, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, building trust through consistent delivery.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate with subconsultants.
• Support proposal development and pursuits as needed.
• Ensure designs and deliverables meet regulatory requirements and firm quality standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and support staff.
