Job summary

CDM Smith is hiring in South Carolina for an experienced seller-doer business development‑oriented Project Manager to join our Transportation group. The role can be based in any SC office with flexible, hybrid work opportunities.

You will lead transportation design projects and develop key client relationships, including SCDOT and municipalities. The position requires a Bachelor's degree, 10 years of related experience, and PMP/CCM/DBIA certification within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 10 years of related experience.
• PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification required (within 12 months of hire or promotion).
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Travel frequency contingent on duties and workload.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Manage SC Transportation Project Manager duties on transportation design projects (bicycle/pedestrian, traffic, planning, local roadways, urban and interstates).
• Arrange, facilitate and prepare for meetings; coordinate with major clients.
• Build new business and manage relationships with SCDOT and other clients including municipalities and contractors.
• Manage strategic pursuits including proposal development and client meetings.
• Prepare and manage design and construction contract specifications.
• Oversee budget, scope and schedule development for tasks/projects.
• Implement quality procedures at project and task levels.
• Engage with professional societies where clients or prospects are members.
