Job summary

GFT is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to join our Construction Services Team in Columbia, Charleston, or the Florence area in South Carolina. You will lead complex transportation projects, manage client meetings, schedules, budgets, and risk assessments to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Required are 15–20 years in civil/construction engineering, a SC PE license, and a valid driver’s license. The role offers a hybrid work environment with competitive benefits and compensation.

Qualifications

• 15-20 years civil engineering, construction engineering, or related engineering experience.
• Valid US driver’s license; this position requires driving to projects and related meetings.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of South Carolina (SC).
• Experience on SCDOT construction projects preferred.
• Commitment to safety compliance and programs.

Responsibilities

• Conducts and documents project meetings with clients.
• Manages construction field personnel, including teaming partners.
• Prepares construction contracts and cost estimates.
• Prepares and monitors project schedules and budgets.
• Prepares and issues reports and correspondence.
• Negotiates and approves construction change orders.
• Oversees CEI activities and risk management assessments.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or related discipline, ABET accredited
