Job summary

County of Culpeper, VA is seeking a Project Manager to lead Locally Administered VDOT Transportation Projects within the County. You will oversee site plan reviews, perform engineering inspections, and coordinate with the Planning Department on transportation grants and CIP projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; 5 years civil eng experience; PE preferred.
• Must possess valid Virginia driver’s license; water/wastewater license a plus.

Responsibilities

• Project manage locally administered VDOT transportation projects; review development proposals; coordinate with Planning on grants and CIP.
• Plan, organize and direct design and construction of capital improvement projects; ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Act as Contract Administrator for infrastructure projects.
• Review subdivision/site plans for utility extensions; conduct inspections.
• Draft and revise utility ordinances, design standards and policies.
• Provide technical engineering expertise to other departments; respond to inquiries.
• Meet with officials, contractors, developers and engineers as needed; maintain records and prepare reports.
