Job summary

LaBella Associates in Albany, NY is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer to join our team in our Albany office. The successful candidate will be technically adept in transportation/highway engineering and will often serve as a project manager on smaller projects or as project engineer on larger ones.

Responsibilities include conducting design work, preparing reports and plans, assisting with business development, and helping coordinate proposals to secure new work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 0-3 years of progressive transportation design experience.
• PE is expected to be obtained.
• Experience on NYSDOT, NYSTA, and Local Administered Federal Aid transportation projects.
• Experience with Microstation / AutoCAD. Inroads experience a plus.
• General knowledge of NYSDOT specifications and standards.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal relationships skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specification and plan preparation to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
• Assist Project Managers with business development activities, including meeting with clients.
• Assist with preparing and coordinating proposal efforts to secure work.
