Job summary

HNTB Corporation in the Central States footprint seeks a senior transportation planning leader to guide a 6–8 person group across feasibility through construction. You will coordinate priorities, staffing, and budgets while mentoring staff to improve team performance and project delivery.

The ideal candidate brings extensive transportation planning and NEPA experience, with a track record in recruiting, developing, and retaining professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8 years relevant experience including 2 years project leadership experience
• Master’s Degree in Business, Project Management, Planning, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Engineering, Geology, Biology, Environmental Science or related field
• Professional Engineer (PE), American Institute of Certified Planner (AICP), Professional Transportation Planner (PTP), Registered Landscape Architect (RLA), Registered Architect (RA), Certified Environmental Professional (CEP)
• 10 years of relevant experience
• 2 years supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and manage the section's operating budget and forecast updates
• Lead discipline-specific planning section, set priorities, staff to jobs, and mentor staff
• Support strategic planning and SSA process on pursuits and contracting activities
• Support SDA project delivery processes and work planning
• Assist in marketing, client discovery, and win-to-work activities
• Maintain client contacts to ensure satisfaction
• Recruit, hire, develop, and retain section staff and plan reporting/performace reviews
• Oversee project delivery including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and technical tasks
• Lead a team with direct and indirect supervision of 5–10+ staff
• Perform other duties as assigned
