Job summary

Caleres, Inc. seeks an outbound transportation coordinator to partner with inbound transportation and order management, routing orders to reduce cancellations and ensure timely pickups. You will communicate with customers and carriers, maintain documentation, and support DC operations daily.

The role requires collaboration across teams, attention to detail, and proficiency with WMS/TMS systems. Office-based position supporting distribution activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience in a Distribution Center, Transportation Department or Customer Service field preferred.
• Ability to partner with multiple cross-functional teams.
• Problem solving and innovative thinking abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Organizational, prioritization and time management skills.
• Professional written and verbal communication.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks without compromising quality.
• Working knowledge of WMS/TMS; PKMS/AS400 knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with inbound transportation and order management to determine routing candidates.
• Follow up with customers and carriers to encourage timely pickup.
• Maintain records for customer paid orders and routing instructions to DC operations.
• Identify routing efficiencies and communicate shipping schedules with leadership.
• Generate and organize all related paperwork for customer orders.
• Maintain current work instructions detailing shipping requirements.
• Use TMS for shipment building/creation.
• Collaborate with carriers, customers, and order management to resolve capacity and service issues.
• Plan with DC operations daily to ensure continuous product flow.
