Job summary

Ascentek is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead planning, routing, and oversight of transportation operations. You will direct supervisors and drivers to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective deliveries while complying with DOT, OSHA and HAZMAT regulations.

The role requires strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills, plus the ability to develop high-performing teams. You will promote safety, accountability and continuous improvement while exceeding customer expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5–7 years of transportation management experience preferred.
• Experience managing fleet maintenance programs.
• Strong knowledge of DOT, HAZMAT and OSHA regulations.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Hire, train and retain supervisors and drivers to build a transportation team.
• Develop and maintain performance metrics to drive results.
• Monitor compliance with policies, safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead annual performance reviews for transportation staff.
• Plan, organize and motivate team members to achieve goals.
• Improve delivery efficiency and reduce transportation costs through process improvements.
• Partner with leaders to align policies and objectives.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
• Analyze financial data to manage expenses and budgets.
• Drive analytics and KPI development for transportation.
• Ensure fleet operations have effective maintenance programs.
• Foster collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
