Job summary

Sysco is seeking a Transportation Manager for the Woodridge, IL area to oversee the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of products. You will monitor driver performance, manage equipment condition and business volume, and optimize expenses in a dynamic distribution environment.

The role requires 4–8 years of transportation management experience, solid computer and routing platform skills, and knowledge of DOT regulations. CDL preferred; union experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of transportation management experience.
• Strong computer experience and routing platforms.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations; CDL preferred.
• Union experience preferred (optional)

Responsibilities

• Closely monitor driver performance via available technology and control features.
• Maintain detailed records of driver pay, equipment maintenance, and equipment performance.
• Review driver logs to ensure accuracy and DOT adherence.
• Monitor equipment for safe operation and minimal breakdowns.
• Plan and schedule transportation personnel assignments.
• Process bi-weekly payroll and verify vendor invoices.
• Monitor monthly expenses related to planning and make necessary changes.
• Ensure DOT regulatory compliance and safety practices within the department.
