Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to lead dispatchers and drivers, ensuring safe operations and regulatory compliance. You will coordinate staffing, oversee equipment needs, and collaborate with multiple departments in a fast-paced distribution setting.

Strong leadership and knowledge of OSHA/DOT regulations are essential, with proficiency in TMS systems and Excel. The role requires flexibility to work nights and weekends, with opportunities for training and career

Qualifications

• High school graduate; Bachelor's or 5 years supervisory trucking experience preferred
• 3+ years progressive trucking/retail supervision experience preferred
• Knowledge of OSHA & DOT safety regulations, sanitation, and food safety (management level)
• Experience with TMS fleet routing optimization software (Prospero, One Network & CAMS) and fleet on-board systems (XATA)
• Experience using warehouse management system to interact with TMS
• Strong math skills and willingness to learn new programs
• Ability to make decisions quickly and cost effectively
• Proven leadership with 30+ reports and cross-department coordination
• Proactive, energetic, and customer-service oriented
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and supervise transportation personnel to achieve goals
• Schedule coverage to support business needs (weekends, holidays, nights)
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations
• Train and mentor dispatchers and drivers
• Coordinate with other departments within the distribution center and retail
• Maintain accurate documentation of transportation operations and personnel
• Manage equipment and manpower requirements for daily needs
• Identify and implement cost-reduction initiatives
• Supervise drivers and monitor driving safety and performance
• Foster an inclusive, high-energy work environment
