Job summary

SpartanNash in Byron Center, Michigan is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee daily transportation operations, including dispatching, routing, and driver scheduling.

You will work with cross-functional teams, ensure FMCSA/DOT compliance, manage KPI reporting, and lead safety meetings while developing staff and maintaining efficient routes. The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and flexibility for evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED (required).
• Three years of combined transportation and/or supply chain operations experience.
• One year of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours based on business needs; evenings/weekends possible.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day transportation activities within assigned area(s) such as dispatching, routing, product/equipment security, equipment maintenance, etc.
• Work with cross-functional departments related to transportation/supply chain operations and resolve issues promptly.
• Assign and update driver schedules and coordinate delivery changes using routing software; maximize resources for efficient routes.
• Ensure customer concerns are addressed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Oversee review of driver logs, hours, and payroll; monitor FMCSA/CSA compliance and DOT requirements.
• Lead safety meetings and provide training on changes in processes and procedures.
• Maintain transportation-related reporting and KPI metrics; partner with transportation, logistics, and warehouse teams for cost-effective routing.
