Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines in Michigan (Byron Township) is seeking an Operations Supervisor to plan, schedule, coordinate and implement methods for the most efficient routing and movement of customers’ freight in an error-free manner. Available Shift: 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM.

You will manage drivers and dockworkers, review logs, assist with billing and invoicing, train staff, recruit and hire, and ensure safe, compliant operations at the Service Center.

Qualifications

• Experience managing drivers and dockworkers.
• Knowledge of the LTL/ transportation industry.
• Familiarity with the Service Center's surrounding geography.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, coordinate and implement methods to route and move freight efficiently.
• Inspect performance of personnel and adjust work practices to improve service center operations.
• Review logs, reports and coordinate with shift personnel for scheduling and admin support.
• Set up appointment freight deliveries and assist with billing, rating, manifesting and analysis.
• Maintain strong communication with customers and colleagues.
• Train and develop service center staff and participate in hiring.
• Ensure service center premises are safe and maintained.
