Job summary

US Foods, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Transportation to lead a safety‑driven department focused on people, service, and cost. You will coach drivers, develop Transportation staff, and ensure safe, timely outbound shipments to customers and distribution centers.

Responsibilities include supervising drivers and clerical staff, maintaining DOT compliance, and driving process improvements. A background in transportation and supervisory experience is required.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution.
• Minimum one year of experience overseeing a workforce.
• Driver experience a plus.
• Knowledge of DOT requirements.
• Familiarity with OSHA and regulatory standards.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
• High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety-first culture across the Transportation department.
• Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates through coaching and training.
• Discuss performance with Sr. Transportation Managers and address gaps.
• Create upward communication and motivate the team to meet goals.
• Direct and supervise drivers and clerical staff; review performance and discipline when needed.
• Ensure DOT compliance and maintain safety standards; troubleshoot delivery issues.
• Investigate accidents and maintain records; manage shifts and scheduling.
