Job summary

Pacific Seafood is seeking a Transportation Manager in Sacramento to lead the Transportation team, ensuring safety, compliance, and excellent customer service. You will optimize costs, manage routes, and collaborate across the supply chain to improve efficiency.

The role requires strong organizational and analytical skills, with experience in TMS, driver supervision, and KPI tracking, reporting to the Sacramento Delivery department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of four years’ experience in transportation management.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in safety compliance, fleet management, route planning, and route optimization.
• Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to drive safety, customer service, and efficiency.
• Valid driver’s license and knowledge of FMCSA & DOT compliance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage scheduling, weekly driver routes, vacation and relief coverage and truck maintenance.
• Oversee the preparation of delivery documents for customer delivery drivers.
• Coordinate vendor and airport pickups with purchasing.
• Assist in developing driver incentives, safe driving, and cross training programs for drivers to improve their abilities and productivity.
• Manage and/or develop budgets for distribution center logistics as it relates to driver wages, fleet, fuel, R&M, and safety.
• Daily route planning that drives safety, customer service, and efficiency for the organization and its customers.
• Use historical delivery data to identify, communicate, and implement route model adjustments to continuously evolve with the business and drive safety, customer service, and efficiency.
• Perform route ride alongs to coach, train, support drivers while gaining key experience and knowledge of customer requirements, traffic patterns, customer delivery times, possible safety concerns, etc.
• Answer questions and resolve transportation issues.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.
