Job summary

Pacific Seafood in Sacramento is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead our transportation team, ensuring safety, compliance, cost optimization, and on-time delivery across the network. You will manage drivers, routes, budgeting, and documentation, reporting to Jake Burns.

We value an organized, analytical professional with 4+ years in transportation management, knowledge of FMCSA/DOT, and proficiency with TMS and Microsoft Office to drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of four years’ experience in transportation management.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in safety, fleet, route planning and optimization.
• Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Analyze existing route models to improve efficiency.
• Effective spoken and written communication.
• Ability to manage KPIs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• FMCSA & DOT compliance, Hours of Service (HOS) and audit knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling including weekly driver routes and maintenance.
• Prepare delivery documents for customer drivers.
• Develop driver incentives and training programs.
• Manage budgets for distribution center logistics (wages, fleet, fuel, maintenance, safety).
• Plan daily routes to improve safety and efficiency.
• Use historical data to adjust routes and improve service.
• Coach drivers on route models and customer requirements.
