Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Transportation seeks an Engineer III to support the Maintenance Programs Team within the State Maintenance Operations Unit. This role focuses on statewide coordination programs and the deployment of ArcGIS-based tools to aid project delivery.

You will supervise personnel, deliver training in various formats, manage LMS coordination with HR, and oversee contract training with ITRE, NHI, and private firms to improve maintenance operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and four years of progressively responsible experience.
• Professional engineer (PE) registration may be required.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS and data analysis for project delivery.
• Ability to manage complex programs across multiple divisions.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervision of the Maintenance Programs Team within the State Maintenance Operations Unit.
• Support statewide coordination programs like Inmate Labor, Motor Fleet Management, and State Parks Coordination.
• Deliver and coordinate technical training and LMS administration with HR.
• Oversee contract training with ITRE, the National Highway Institute, private firms and associations.
