Job summary

North Carolina Department of Transportation, Randolph County Maintenance, is seeking an Engineering Technician II to inspect roadway assets, assist in RMIP/HMIP program work, and support erosion and sediment control efforts. You will perform sampling, testing, and site assessments, reading plans, and ensuring compliance with standards in a field setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Survey Technology with two years of related experience.
• Equivalent education/experience combination allowed.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of roadway assets and process sampling/testing to verify codes.
• Lead county-wide erosion and sediment control and storm water site management.
• Assist in RMIP/HMIP program inspection work.
• Conduct rainfall assessments and record-keeping for projects.
• Support maintenance crews and perform entry-level technical tasks.
