Job Summary

The Transportation Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating all transportation activities to ensure the timely, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will monitor logistics processes, analyze transportation data, and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to maintain operational excellence.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee transportation operations to ensure on-time and cost-effective delivery of goods.
• Collaborate with transportation providers and transloading facilities to negotiate rates and service agreements.
• Analyze transportation data and performance metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
• Investigate and resolve transportation-related issues such as delays, damages, or discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, transportation costs, and RFQ documentation.
• Communicate shipment statuses and delivery schedules to internal teams and external partners.
• Monitor and manage transportation costs, identifying opportunities for savings and efficiency.
• Prepare and generate shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing slips, and shipping labels.
• Ensure outbound shipping documentation is accurately maintained in the ERP system.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
• Facilitate clear communication and collaboration across departments.
• Provide general administrative support to the operations team as needed.

Work Experience/Education/Skills Requirements

• Associate’s degree required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation and/or logistics required.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• High attention to detail with proven accuracy in documentation and reporting.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and build strong working relationships.
• Demonstrated sense of urgency and high level of dependability and integrity.
