Job summary

Central Steel & Wire, part of the Ryerson Family of Companies, is seeking a Load Planner to design cost-efficient routes ensuring on-time deliveries. The role emphasizes beating costs while maximizing asset use, with daily hours 12pm–8:30pm and collaboration with carriers and internal teams.

The position requires at least a high school diploma and 2 years in transportation, with proficiency in OTM/SAP and strong customer communication.

Qualifications

• Must have experience planning transportation and coordinating routes.
• Strong communication with internal/external customers.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Produce day-to-day transportation plans using routing software to meet delivery dates.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance through consolidated shipments and multi-stop routing.
• Analyze plans to maximize asset use while minimizing costs.
• Create and maintain reports on transportation goals and performance.
• Identify and resolve carrier performance issues such as missed loads or delays.
