Job summary

SBT Global, Inc. is seeking a Transportation/Load Planner to optimize daily load planning using TMS and WMS. You will coordinate transportation services and use capacity tools to determine truck locations and loads, tailoring planning to regional needs.

You will act as the primary liaison for customers, carriers, and internal teams, ensuring timely shipment execution and proactive communications about status, delays, or changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1+ year of load planning or supply chain operations experience preferred.
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is required.

Responsibilities

• Optimize load planning daily using the TMS and WMS to improve efficiency.
• Oversee planning and coordination of transportation services for operations efficiency.
• Apply independent judgment to determine truck locations and loads using capacity tools.
• Make informed decisions on late pickups, deliveries, or load changes and cancellations.
• Serve as main contact for customers, carriers, warehouse ops and internal teams.
• Communicate daily with stakeholders to ensure accurate shipment execution.
• Provide updates on shipment status, delays, and service issues.
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment aligned with company goals.

Job description

• Optimize load planning daily using the Transportation Management System and Warehouse Management System.
• Oversee the comprehensive planning and coordination of transportation services to maximize operational efficiency and productivity.
• Apply independent judgment and discretion, utilizing network balance capacity tools to determine truck locations and available customer loads. Tailor planning to meet regional needs, including load allocation, route optimization, and adjustments or cancellations.
• Make informed decisions regarding late pickups, deliveries, and any load changes, cancellations, or reassignments, ensuring timely communication with relevant personnel.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, carriers, warehouse operations, and internal teams regarding load planning, scheduling, and transportation execution.
• Communicate daily with customers, carriers, warehouse personnel, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate shipment execution.
• Provide timely updates regarding shipment status, service failures, delays, and other operational issues.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that supports business operations and company objectives.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• 1+ prior experience in load planning and supply chain operations preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required.
