Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Hydraulics Engineer in San Diego, CA to deliver drainage and stormwater design for transportation projects across Southern California.

You will conduct hydraulic modeling, prepare design calculations, and lead engineers in the development of plans and specifications for detention facilities and drainage systems. Required are a civil engineering degree, PE license, and at least 3 years of licensed experience in stormwater/water resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental, water resources or related field.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board.
• Minimum of 3 years' licensed experience in stormwater and water resources.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer focused on storm system design.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to collaborate with various teams.
• Local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide project engineering focus on transportation projects and public clients in Southern California.
• Conduct hydraulic and hydrologic modeling; design stormwater collection systems.
• Produce design calculations and technical reports; lead preparation of engineering plans and specifications for detention facilities and drainage.
