Job summary

The Town of Cary is seeking a GIS Specialist to maintain and analyze transportation geospatial data, supporting street improvements, greenways, sidewalks, and asset management. You’ll work across departments and translate complex maps into clear visuals for decision-making.

You will create, modify, and maintain transportation assets in the Town GIS, produce maps and graphics, and ensure data quality while collaborating with stakeholders and providing excellent GIS customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience with GIS/CAD and GIS software/tools.
• Experience creating graphics for digital, web, print outputs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze transportation geospatial data to support planning and assets.
• Create and maintain GIS/AutoCAD graphics and assets for department use.
• Collaborate across Town departments and respond to information requests.
• Ensure data quality and document procedures.
