Job summary

The Town of Harrisburg, NC is seeking an experienced GIS professional to administer and continuously improve the Town’s GIS, databases, and applications. You will produce maps, analyses, and visualizations to support planning, engineering, and public works, and provide technical GIS support to multiple departments and external partners.

Qualifications include a 4-year degree in geospatial fields and 3–5 years of GIS experience, plus a NC driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year college degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Planning, Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related field and 3–5 years of professional GIS experience.
• Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain geospatial datasets and enterprise geospatial databases.
• Develop maps, data visualizations, and analytical reports.
• Conduct research and spatial analyses to support planning, infrastructure, and operations.
• Provide GIS support to Town departments and respond to inquiries from external agencies and the public.
