Job summary

The State of North Carolina - Department of Transportation is seeking an Engineering Supervisor I (NS) to provide technical and administrative support to the Division Maintenance staff. You will oversee maintenance projects, including secondary road construction, safety, and resurfacing programs, and help manage contracts and ID/IQ agreements.

You will also handle budgeting, report generation, and coaching of peers and maintenance supervisors on budget management strategies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of roadway maintenance, preservation, and design of roadway facilities.
• Experience tracking cost expenditures across large projects and accounts.
• Experience leading teams and coordinating with officials and the public.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance projects including construction, safety, and resurfacing programs.
• Manage Division Resurfacing and Preservation initiatives and contracts.
• Develop and administer ID/IQ contracts across the Division.
• Support budgeting, generate reports, and coach peers on budget management.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and ensure policy consistency division-wide.
