Job summary

Fuss & O'Neill in Springfield, MA is seeking an engineering intern to support highway, roadway, and traffic design, with emphasis on signals, signs, and pavement markings, and to assist with field visits and data collection.

This 12-week paid summer program offers hands-on experience on real client projects, collaboration with a supportive team, and flexible work options with hybrid in-office and remote work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in civil engineering and/or transportation engineering.
• 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or similar programs is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office programs.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with roadway and traffic engineering design, including signals, signs, and pavement markings.
• Support traffic studies, data collection, and analysis of traffic flow and patterns.
• Contribute to transportation planning and traffic impact studies, including permit applications.
• Conduct field visits, surveys, and construction support activities.
• Prepare technical reports and utilize design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Synchro.
