Job summary

Fuss & O'Neill is seeking an engineering intern to support highway, roadway, and traffic engineering design. The 12-week paid summer internship runs Monday through Friday and may sit out of Hartford, CT.

This hybrid role blends in-office collaboration with remote work to support work-life balance. The program offers real client project experience in a collaborative environment, with exposure to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and traffic studies.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in civil engineering and/or transportation engineering.
• 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or similar programs is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office programs.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with roadway and traffic engineering design, including signals, signs, and pavement markings.
• Support traffic studies, data collection, and analysis of traffic flow and patterns.
• Contribute to transportation planning and traffic impact studies, including permit applications.
• Conduct field visits, surveys, and construction support activities.
• Prepare technical reports and utilize design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Synchro.

The Transportation Business Unit is seeking an engineering intern to support a variety of projects, with a focus on highway, roadway, and traffic engineering design.

Our internship program is a 12‑week paid summer program. We offer in depth work experience on real client projects in a supportive and collaborative environment. The position is full‑time Monday through Friday and may sit out of Hartford, CT.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with roadway and traffic engineering design, including signals, signs, and pavement markings
• Support traffic studies, data collection, and analysis of traffic flow and patterns
• Contribute to transportation planning and traffic impact studies, including permit applications

The base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting. This range reflects the company's good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
