Job summary

Fuss & O’Neill in Springfield, MA is seeking a civil engineering intern to support the Community Development group on site design projects. The 12-week paid summer internship runs Monday through Friday and offers a hybrid work model with in‑office collaboration and remote work.

You will assist with basic site and drainage design, implement sustainable site principles, and help prepare local, state and federal permit applications while gaining hands‑on experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCAD,

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on site design and land development.
3.0 GPA or higher.
Proficiency with MS Office programs.
Prior experience with CAD software preferred.
Ability to perform field work.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

Perform basic site and drainage designs.
Implement Sustainable Site design principles.
Assist with the preparation of local, state & federal permit applications.
Provide construction administration support.
Execute design-related computer programs using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCAD, StormCAD, and Synchro
