Job summary

Alfred Benesch & Company is seeking a Transportation Engineering - Highway/Roadway Intern to join our summer 2026 team. You will work with experienced designers to contribute to highway and roadway design, traffic analyses, and plan preparation at offices in Milwaukee, Madison, or Neenah, WI.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a civil engineering degree and have interest in transportation projects, with familiarity in MicroStation or AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in highway, roadway, or transportation engineering.
• Familiarity with design software such as MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D (Geopak or 3D Modeling experience a plus, but not required).
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Organizational skills to handle multiple assignments efficiently.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from project sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist on highway and roadway design projects including traffic analysis and plan preparation.
• Gain hands-on experience with engineering design software, construction documentation, and collaborative project delivery.
