Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Reston, VA. You will work with seasoned engineers to support planning through design on transportation projects for DOTs, counties, and municipalities.

The program rotates through Structures/Bridges, Roadway/Highways, and Traffic/Safety in the first semester, with exposure to industry standards and project delivery processes to build hands-on experience.

Qualifications

Enrollment in a degree seeking program in Civil or Transportation Engineering or a closely related field.
Knowledge of and experience using CAD/Design software (preferably AutoCAD Civil 3D).
Ideally, you’ll also have previous experience design or transportation-related coursework.

Responsibilities

Support transportation projects from planning through design.
Gain hands-on experience with DOT, county, and municipal projects while learning industry design standards and practices.
Rotate through three discipline focus areas within the first assignment semester, then specialize later.
Work across Structures/Bridges, Roadway/Highways, and Traffic/Safety areas.
