Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern for its Bridges team, in Austin or Houston, TX, for Summer 2027. You will work on projects delivering innovative bridge and infrastructure solutions within a multidisciplinary group.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in design, analysis, and maintenance, under professional engineers’ guidance, with exposure to private and public sector clients and a hybrid working setup.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Performs evaluations of structures of varying complexity.
• Prepares plans, designs, calculations and cost estimates under supervision.
• Use CAD software to create structural models.
• Contribute to drawings, specifications and reports.
• Participate in project meetings and communicate with clients.
• Conduct site visits to assess structures or monitor progress.
