Job summary

Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) invites candidates for Transportation Engineer 1 or Transportation Engineer 2. The program includes a 12-month rotation through Planning, Engineering, Construction and Highway Maintenance with hands-on training.

Selected candidates will work with seasoned engineers, complete a structured training plan, and advance within a strong public-service environment in Ohio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; Accepted for FE exam by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.
• Engineer-In-Training certificate issued or accepted as equivalent by the Ohio Board; 12 months as Transportation Engineer 1.
• Or Bachelor's degree with 2 years engineering related experience; substitution rules apply.

Responsibilities

• Receive a thorough introduction to three core civil engineering disciplines.
• Work alongside ODOT professional engineers for hands-on experience.
• Participate in a 12-month training plan with scheduled rotations across disciplines.
