Job summary

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is hiring a Transportation Engineer 1 or Transportation Engineer 2 to join the Civil Engineering Program. You will rotate through Planning, Engineering, Construction and Highway Maintenance with a structured 12‑month training plan.

You will work alongside seasoned engineers and receive hands‑on transportation experience to advance your career within ODOT. This full‑time role requires a relevant engineering degree and state‑level certification

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and eligibility for the EIT exam in Ohio.
• Certification as Engineer‑In‑Training or equivalent by Ohio Board.
• Experience in transportation engineering or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Complete ODOT’s Transportation Civil Engineering Program with a 12‑month rotation.
• Work alongside ODOT professional engineers in core disciplines.
• Gain hands‑on training to advance as an engineer within ODOT.
