Job summary

Fehr & Peers is seeking a Transportation Engineer or Planner with 2-4 years of experience in transportation planning or engineering. You will build on a strong technical foundation, take on greater ownership, and help shape project approaches while mentoring others.

You’ll work on diverse planning and engineering projects, develop your technical and project-management skills, and contribute to client relationships in a collaborative culture that supports growth and initiative.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of transportation planning or engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in transportation, civil or related field.
• Experience applying transportation analysis techniques with increasing independence.
• Experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, or related areas.
• Familiarity with software: Excel, GIS, CAD, traffic operations tools, modeling tools, and programming.

Responsibilities

• Lead tasks and manage projects, including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Apply standard and intermediate analytical techniques independently.
• Contribute to project approaches and decision-making.
• Prepare clear, well-organized technical reports, memos, and presentations.
• Participate in and lead client meetings and support relationship development.
• Mentor entry-level staff and interns; delegate and review work.
• Assist with proposals and business development initiatives.
• Balance multiple assignments and manage workload effectively.
• Conduct site visits and field data collection as needed.
• Learn and adopt new tools and technologies to enhance day-to-day work.
